The Scottish Cardiac Society was established in 1992 and is a
registered charity.
The founding Council of the Society, whilst acknowledging the major
contribution and role of the British Cardiac Society, felt strongly
that there was a need for a forum to express the Scottish dimension
with regard to Cardiology. The Society exists to foster education,
training, the setting of clinical standards and to encourage research
into cardiovascular disease. The Membership are cardiologists and
cardiac surgeons but includes other healthcare workers.
